Dr Ajay Gambhir
Monday 11th May 5.00pm
In this presentation, Dr Ajay Gambhir will briefly explain the scientific evidence that indicates why we need to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions so rapidly. He will then describe the different technologies and measures that are available to us to “decarbonise” our energy system, which is responsible for most of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions. He will discuss the opportunities and challenges in transitioning to zero-carbon, considering innovation, economics and policies.
Dr Ajay Gambhir is an Advanced Research Fellow at the Imperial College London Grantham Institute. He uses a range of analytical tools and research methods to consider how different regions and the world as a whole can reduce their greenhouse gas emissions to avoid dangerous climate change, as well as how this transition can be just and equitable.
