Beautiful World Cabarets

All the world’s a stage, now let’s protect it!

The Beautiful World Cabarets began in 2023 when award-winning actress and producer, Janie Dee, created a unique performance experience that combined music, storytelling, humour, and conversation around one of the most important issues of our time: caring for our planet.

Designed to inspire rather than preach, the cabarets bring together leading performers, musicians, writers, activists, and audiences in an atmosphere of joy, creativity, and hope. Through songs, personal stories, poetry, dance, and discussion, each event explores environmental challenges while celebrating the power of people coming together to create positive change.

Following its acclaimed London debut, the Beautiful World Cabaret travelled to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2024, featuring an outstanding company of artists and collaborators. Alongside the performances, Janie Dee hosted regular community gatherings by the sea in Newhaven, creating spaces for open conversations about climate action and collective responsibility.

The cabarets returned to London to sold-out audiences and growing critical acclaim, leading to an exciting new chapter. Janie envisioned the Beautiful World Cabaret as a platform that could be shared by many voices, inviting artists from different backgrounds to create their own interpretations and reach new audiences.

In 2025, London’s iconic Crazy Coqs hosted a season of twelve Beautiful World Cabarets featuring a remarkable lineup of performers, including Janie Dee, Wayne Sleep OBE, Carly Mercedes-Dyer, Cassidy Janson, Laura Pitt-Pulford, Olivia Williams, Josephina Ortiz-Lewis, Alfie Friedman, and many others. The season received outstanding five-star reviews and transferred to the Charing Cross Theatre, attracting even wider audiences and expanding its network of artists and supporters.

Memorable moments included appearances by Dame Maureen Lipman and 100-year-old environmental campaigner Thelma Ruby, whose activism to protect hundreds of trees in Wimbledon Park highlighted the real-world impact of community action. The success of the cabarets also led to invitations from festivals and venues across the country, including Newbury Festival and Frinton-on-Sea, where the concept evolved into larger-scale Beautiful World Concerts.

Today, the Beautiful World Cabarets continue to grow as a vibrant movement that uses the arts to connect people, spark conversation, and celebrate solutions. Blending entertainment with inspiration, they prove that addressing environmental issues can be uplifting, inclusive, and deeply human.

Join us at Beautiful World Cabarets and Concerts and experience an unforgettable evening where music, creativity, and community come together to imagine—and help create—a more beautiful world.

We have new Beautiful World Cabarets planned. Stay tuned for more…

Beautiful World is first and foremost a thrilling hour of cabaret, with Dee’s skill at delivering a song there in spades.’ ★★★★★ Playbill

‘The whole show oozes with warmth, positivity and hope – which is delightful when so many environmentalist takes have a tendency to be aggressive and confrontational. A revelatory and enlightening experience that held my attention from beginning to end.’ ★★★★★ LondonTheatre1

‘A beautiful exploration of our world through song.’ ★★★★★ Curtain Call Reviews

‘It’s not often you can get truly up close and personal to a West End Star, but Janie Dee’s Beautiful World Cabaret gives you that opportunity. A sequence of familiar, and less familiar songs that all take an individual look at the natural world is the thread that unites this show to create a stunning hour of music for the ears and compassion for the planet. Accompanied by two singer/dancers, Sophia Priolo and Josephina Ortiz-Lewis, and the amazing violinist Sarah Harrison and accordionist Igor Outkine, the music just flows over you as you sit there frankly entranced the whole time. My own personal hairs-on-the-back-of my-neck moment came when Janie sang Sondheim’s Another Hundred People whilst Sarah alongside her played a stressed, frantic string arrangement. Every show has a different guest artiste and we couldn’t have been more delighted to welcome Frances Ruffelle singing Piaf’s Je ne regrette rien in both English and French. But the whole show was sensational; cabaret with a message – not preachy, just heartfelt, with amazing music.’

‘A gorgeous performance for a wide audience, Janie Dee’s Beautiful World Cabaret is a show with a difference. While it contains all of the brilliance of a traditional cabaret in its songs, dance routines, and musical spectacle, Dee’s message is clear: the beauty of our earth needs protecting..’ ★★★★ Edinburgh Fringe Review

‘Her generosity shines.’ ★★★★ The Stage
