Wednesday 1st & 29th April 5.30pm
Worried about the climate crisis, but not sure where to start? Tessa Clarke co-founded OLIO, the world’s first neighbour-to-neighbour food sharing app. OLIO has 2 million members, is active in 49 countries and has been recognised by the United Nations as a “beacon” for the world in our battle to solve the climate emergency. She will not only share with you the ups and downs of the OLIO journey from inception to global movement, but will also give plenty of practical advice on how YOU can help solve the climate crisis from the comfort of your very own home. Come prepared to be shocked and inspired in equal measures!
OLIO connects neighbours with each other and with local businesses so surplus food can be shared, not thrown away. This could be food nearing its sell-by date in local stores, spare home-grown vegetables, bread from your baker, or the groceries in your fridge when you go away. OLIO can also be used for non-food household items too. Here at OLIO we believe that small actions can lead to big change. Collectively – one rescued cupcake, carrot or bottle of lotion at a time – we can build a more sustainable future where our most precious resources are shared, not thrown away.
Tessa will give a 45 mins talk followed by 15 mins Q&A
