Wednesday 1st & 29th April 5.30pm
Tessa Clarke is co-founder & CEO of OLIO. Her parents are farmers and so she knows how much hard work goes into producing the food we all eat, and absolutely *hates* throwing it away! Fast forward to 2014, she was moving country and the removal men said I had to bin our food – I couldn’t do it and that was the light bulb moment when OLIO was born.
OLIO connects neighbours with each other and with local businesses so surplus food can be shared, not thrown away. This could be food nearing its sell-by date in local stores, spare home-grown vegetables, bread from your baker, or the groceries in your fridge when you go away. OLIO can also be used for non-food household items too. Here at OLIO we believe that small actions can lead to big change. Collectively – one rescued cupcake, carrot or bottle of lotion at a time – we can build a more sustainable future where our most precious resources are shared, not thrown away.
Tessa will give a 45 mins talk followed by 15 mins Q&A
