TBC 5.00pm
Do you find it difficult to talk about the climate crisis? Does it sometimes feel as if there is no opportunity to share your own feelings about it, or to hear how it is affecting others? Climate cafés provide a space for small groups of people worried about our changing climate to talk about what it means for them, and to explore some complex feelings and thoughts which may be hard to talk about. A climate café is a simple, hospitable, empathetic experience where sometimes difficult feelings about the climate crisis can be expressed.
Climate cafés are offered in communities across the UK. Typically climate cafés meet regularly but the Climate Psychology Alliance are offering a one-off taster version especially for the London Climate Change Festival. Numbers are limited to 12 people. Hot drinks and cake will be provided.
Please arrive promptly for the start time. Latecomers may not be admitted.
The café facilitator will be Rebecca Nestor, Climate Psychology Alliance. Rebecca is an Oxford-based group facilitator and workshop leader who has worked with groups, organisations and individuals on the personal aspects of climate change for ten years. She is a trained facilitator and trainer for Carbon Conversations, runs workshops on how to talk with friends and family about the climate crisis, and is researching the experience of leaders in organisations that communicate climate change to the public.
